DLE Weekly Update: spring/summer semester rollover and emergency support

2024 Spring/Summer Semester Rollover

Please note that the 2024 Spring/Summer Semester Rollover will be deployed on the week of April 8. During this process, teachers will be given access to the Brightspace shells for the courses they will be teaching this coming spring/summer, and student enrolment will be downloaded from the student information system.

If you have been scheduled in Genesis, you should find your new 24S courses under the “2024 Spring/Summer” label, in the “My Courses” widget after April 8.

Emergency Exam Support for Final Assessment Week (April 13 to April 20)

As the final exam week is approaching, as usual, the DLE Team will be offering emergency support during that week. Exam support will be available to you either by opening a case with your phone number in the subject line, or by calling our emergency number, one hour before your exam starts and 30 minutes after it ends.

Note:

Most exam issues can be avoided by verifying the settings prior to making the exam visible to students.
We encourage you to schedule an appointment with us (virtual or in-person), prior to the final exam date, and go over your Brightspace quiz settings.
You could also take a few moments to schedule a practice quiz with your learners using the same settings you’ll be using for your final exam. This allows them to get familiar with the process and, hopefully, lower the stress level a little.
